MACOS - Wi-Fi Setup & Certificate Installation Guide

Step 1: Connecting to Wi-Fi

Location Requirement: You must be physically on campus to complete this step.

Select the Network: Open your device's Wi-Fi settings and select the network named CRCS.
Enter Credentials: When prompted, enter your specific student details.
Example:
- Username: 236000 (Your Student ID)
- Password: Password1 (Your Student Password)
Complete the Connection:Click Join or Connect.

⚠️ Important Next Step Your connection is not yet secure. To ensure full internet access and security compliance, you must now install the network certificate.

Step 2: Installing the Network Certificate

Note: You do not need to be on campus to complete this step.

Part 1: Download and Add to Keychain

Download the Certificate: Click the link below to download the required file.

- Troubleshooting: If you receive a browser warning, click Advanced and then select Continue to website.
Open the File: Double-click the downloaded file.
Authenticate: You will be prompted to enter your Mac laptop password (the one you use to log in to your computer) to add the file to your keychain.

Part 2: Configure Trust Settings

Open Keychain Access:
- Press Command (⌘) + Spacebar simultaneously to open Spotlight Search.
- Type Keychain Access and press Enter.
Locate the System Keychain: On the left sidebar of the Keychain Access window, locate the "Keychains" section and click on System.
Find the Certificate: Look through the list to find the certificate named: FG6H0FTB22904401.

Troubleshooting: If you cannot see this certificate, click on the downloaded certificate again to install it in this section
Open Certificate Properties: Double-click this certificate to open its settings.
Adjust Trust Level:
- Click the arrow > next to the word Trust to expand the menu.
- Look for the dropdown menu labeled "When using this certificate."
- Change the setting to Always Trust.

Part 3: Finalizing

Save Changes: Close the certificate window. You may be asked to enter your Mac laptop password again to confirm the changes.
Restart Browser: Close and quit all open web browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) to ensure the new certificate is recognised.
